Overwatch 2 season 3 patch notes blizzard11/30/2023 ![]() However, regardless of the seasonal reset, both skill tier and MMR can decay over time for players who are inactive for a considerable amount of time. The partial rank reset at the beginning of the season may be exaggerating this by making it look like someone is lower than their actual rank. Often matches with a wide displayed skill tier difference still look very close when looking at the difference in MMR between the two teams. This will make it much less likely for a solo player or a party with a narrow skill disparity to end up in a match with a wide skill disparity. We’re working on some changes that will match parties with similar MMR disparities together more frequently, which we expect to noticeably reduce how often we make wide matches. We allow players to group together even when there’s a difference in the MMR between party members, and this is a major source of wide skill disparities in matches. We’ve seen your feedback on matches with wide skill variation, and we want to talk about a few reasons that could be happening as well as our plans to address your concerns. Here’s what we’re currently seeing in ranked Our team has begun work on longer-term features and updates for both the matchmaker and competitive game mode, and we look forward to sharing more on those plans in the future! Rather than reduce the amount of healing per projectile, which may lead to feeling locked into focusing on primary fire even more, we're increasing the recovery time before she can start firing the Healing Ofuda. We've seen players tend to get overly focused on maximizing her healing potential and only use primary fire for extended periods of time. Recovery time increased from 0.85 to 1 secondĭeveloper Comments: Despite Kiriko's healing projectiles being slow-moving and single target, her average healing output per match is higher than we'd like. The reduction to primary fire damage will further slow that down as well. Previously, damage boosts and critical damage had an amplified effect for Sojourn since it reduced the time to build energy and lowered the threshold at which her Railgun secondary fire became lethal. Hitting armored targets or other sources of damage reduction will result in quicker energy gains than before. Primary fire damage per projectile reduced from 10 to 9ĭeveloper Comments: The energy gain adjustment will help smooth out Sojourn's average Railgun charge time to kill because it won't benefit as much from critical damage or damage boost abilities. Each primary fire hit against an enemy player now grants 5 energy Energy gain is no longer based on damage done by primary fire. Its effectiveness will now be more dependent on specific hero matchups and how the hooked target is able to respond. Chain Hook is still a powerful utility to forcibly reposition enemy players, so it will still often lead to eliminations. ![]() Reload time reduced from 2 to 1.75 secondsĭeveloper Comments: These changes aim to reduce the frustration of dying in one shot immediately after being hooked and pulled by Roadhog.Recovery time reduced from 0.85 to 0.8 seconds.Damage per pellet reduced from 6.6 to 6.The enemy final position distance from Roadhog after being pulled increased from 3 to 4 meters. ![]() ![]() Here are the Overwatch 2 patch notes for January 24, including developer comments: Tank Orisa MORE FROM FORBES So Far, 'Overwatch 2' Feels Like A Missed Opportunity For Crossover Skins By Kris Holt
